Temporary exhibition 2025

80 years of the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Technology

October 1–31, 2025

In 2025, the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Technology will celebrate its 80th anniversary.

The history of the Faculty is inextricably linked to the post-war reconstruction of Wrocław and Poland. It was the graduates and professors who made a huge contribution to shaping the architectural landscape, and their work and talent left a lasting mark on the urban space.

As early as 1950, the Faculty obtained the right to award doctoral degrees in technical sciences, and since 1960, it has also been able to award postdoctoral degrees.

Its graduates include outstanding architects such as Jadwiga Grabowska-Hawrylak, Krystyna Barska and Marian Barski, Witold Lipiński, Stefan Müller, Wojciech Jarząbek, Tomasz Głowacki, Zbigniew Maćków, Joanna Styrylska, Anna and Marcin Major, Agnieszka Chrzanowska, Maciej Siuda and many other creators whose designs have changed the face of cities.

The professorial staff also included outstanding figures: Tadeusz Broniewski, Olgierd Czerner, Andrzej Frydecki, Jadwiga Sławińska, Zdzisław Jurkiewicz, Ada Kwiatkowska, Marek Lamber – teachers and masters of many generations.

Architectural diplomas are always visions of the future. The students’ final projects, presented as part of the exhibition, show not only individual talent, but also the search for new solutions and directions in architecture.

The exhibition also includes images accompanying the projects – sketches, photographs, perspectives and modern visualisations. They are a record of the imagination, energy and courage of young artists who are already shaping the future.

The exhibition is part of the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Architecture at the Wroclaw University of Technology.
