Katarzyna Banaś — studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. She obtained her diploma in painting in 1997 in the atelier of Professor Józef Hałas. She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. She is the author of several dozen individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
Katarzyna Banaś’s painting is like poetry. Delicate, subtle, lyrical, it appeals to us with the beauty of its form, the softness of its colours, its artfully planned composition, it touches directly upon our emotions, arouses longing and nostalgia in us, and satisfies our need for beauty. The artist herself makes no secret of the fact that she draws inspiration from various fields of art. She is fascinated by poetry, moved by music, inspired by nature and its constant changeability. Perhaps this is why her landscapes are of such special, atmospheric beauty – because the artist incorporates in them an extraordinary wealth of inspiration, combines impressions perceived through various senses, and transfers on canvas the afterimages of landscapes hidden under the eyelids.
