Katarzyna Bułka-Matłacz – a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She studied at the Faculty of Sculpture under professors: G. Zemła, J. Kucz, P. Gawron, S. Kulon, J. Pastwa and T. Łodziany. In 1991, she obtained the Master of Arts degree, and in 1996 she was awarded the Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and Art.
She takes part in national and international exhibitions. Her works are constantly present in art galleries and museums in Poland, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, Belgium and Germany.
She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists in Warsaw and the French Association Art’PAIR International. She is the author of dozens of prestigious statuettes and awards for, among others: Puls Biznesu (GAZELS OF BUSINESS), PAN, TVN, AXA, AIG, EBL, Kraft Foods, BRE Bank, Credit Suisse, Forbes. Her numerous works are in private collections at home and abroad.

In her work, the sculptor uses the lost-wax technique, a casting method known as far back as antiquity. This method of making artistic bronze castings requires exceptional patience and great precision on the part of the artist. After many years of experimentation, she has also developed a proprietary technique for fusing glass in a high-temperature furnace. Using both techniques, she creates unique sculptures in bronze and glass rich in metaphors and symbols. Each sculpture by the artist is a unique and original work, one of a kind, made with extreme care and respect for the viewer. The unique relationship that the artist is able to establish with her audience means that her sculptures are excellently received on the art market in Poland and around the world.

The artist’s motto:

“I strive for my sculptures to have a contemplative structure, conducive to meditation and a deeper look within. In my works, I want to open a space for spiritual experiences and a door to the theatre of the imagination, whose stage is like the cosmos – infinite.”

The exhibition will be on display until 13 October 2024.
