Krzysztof Grabara – born in 1985 in Kościan. He is a self-taught artist. He took up painting in February 2019. He also gives workshops and consultations on photography. In 2018, two years before his retirement, due to humiliation and dehumanisation, he quit his job as a police officer to take up creating. After a year of painting, he was awarded by the Polish Masters of Art in the #youngmasters category for a painting done in acrylic technique and twice the following year for works done in oil pastel. His greatest success is an individual exhibition in Ochorowiczówka – the Museum of Magical Realism in Wisła – and the participation of his painting Tkanka (Tissue) from the Messenger series in the auction of surrealism organised by Desa Unicum alongside Zdzisław Beksiński, Rafał Olbiński, Tomasz Sętowski, Maksymilian Novak-Zempliński and others.
Nearly 700 of the artist’s works are already in private and institutional collections (Museum of Magical Realism in Wisła) in Poland, Austria, Finland, Ireland, the UK, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal and China and the USA.
