Exhibition of historical photographs “The Donnersmarck residences – from the collection of Zbigniew Banaś”.
The exhibition presents unique photographs from the collection of Zbigniew Banaś, showing the estates of the Donnersmarck family in the Tarnogórski District.
Zbigniew Banaś has been passionately collecting photographs depicting, above all, the Donnersmarck family palace in Świerklaniec for over 10 years. However, his extensive collection of photographs and postcards also includes other monuments, such as the palaces in Repty, Brynek and Nakło.
The aim of the exhibition is not only to show the historical richness of the area and its architectural qualities, but also to strengthen local identity and draw attention to the need to protect cultural heritage.
Curatorial tours will be organised during the exhibition to give visitors a deeper understanding of the context and significance of the objects on display.
The organisers, the Góry Kultury Association, wish through this exhibition to become part of the process of nurturing and discovering local history. Thanks to the passion of Zbigniew Banaś, visitors will be able to see unique photographs that show the local monuments and palace and park layouts as they were nearly 70 years ago.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 14 to 30 September 2024 and is made possible thanks to financial support from a project by the Tarnogórski District Administration.
Exhibition prolonged until 31 December 2024.
You are cordially invited to visit this unique exhibition and discover the history of the Donnersmarcks and their residence.
